Delete Your Data

You can permanently delete your Starways Meals data at any time, and there is no charge. Choose whichever method is easiest — each one is described below, along with exactly what gets deleted. You do not need the app installed to use the email method.
Delete from the app
Open the Starways Meals app and go to Settings → Your data:
- Delete all data (shown to the person who created the household, on any phone they are signed in on): permanently deletes the entire household and everything in it — all meals, weekly plans, grocery lists, pantry staples, food rules, reminders, invited members, and message history — for everyone, on every phone. This cannot be undone.
- Delete my data (shown to everyone else in the household): removes your phone from the household and signs it out. Data shared with the rest of your household stays with them; to also delete your personal text-message history, use the "Delete by text" method below.
Delete by text
Text DELETE MY DATA to Starways Meals at (757) 702-5150, from the phone you use with the Service. We will reply asking you to confirm; reply DELETE MY DATA YES and the deletion runs immediately. This permanently deletes your user record and your message history. If you are the only member of your household, your household and all of its meals, plans, and lists are deleted as well.
If you previously texted STOP, we can't text you back — text START first, then DELETE MY DATA. Or skip texting entirely and use the email method below.
Delete by email
Email support@starwaysapps.com and ask us to delete your data. Write from the email address you linked to your account, or tell us the mobile number you use with Starways Meals, so we can find the right account. We will confirm by reply once it is done.
What gets deleted
A full deletion permanently removes your account information (your name and, if provided, your phone number and email address), your meals and food rules — including any allergies or dietary restrictions you told us about — your weekly plans and grocery lists, your pantry staples, your reminders, any grocery-store connection you authorized, the phones signed in to your household, and your message history with our assistant. It also removes the detailed usage records tied to your household. Recipe photos you send are processed in memory and are never written to our database. Deletion is permanent: we cannot recover any of it afterward. The little that stays is described below.
Data we may retain
We may retain a limited record of a deletion request, along with a record of which weeks a household was active and a count of when households left — records that carry no name, phone number, email address, or message content — and information we are required to keep for legal, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes. Retained records are kept no longer than needed and are not used to re-identify you within the Service.
